Worldwide House the Dormitory of Auckland

Last time I wrote about the homestay, now I should mention the dorm, where I live in Auckland.

The title "Worldwide House" - just means the name of Worldwide language school accommodation. I didn't choose homestay in AKL is because I've considered that AKL is quite a large city, its kind of different from Chch though. That means maybe the homestay may be really far far away from city centre. And the transportation fee is also a problem. A dorm is cheaper as well.

Facilities - They are ok, a shared room is 3 people in one room with a table and a desk but not having enough draws is a little bit inconvenient. The kitchen is small however there is a fridge and a microwave, it is enough for me, I don't really cook.:) But I've got trouble. It is I don't know why since I had moved in, I always broke things. (yah, I became a butterfingers for the time)

Roommates - Originally I just had one roommate, she was from Spain, untill the last week. Then a new roommate was from "New Caledonia" moved in. I didn't have many chances to know my new roommate coz only for one week and most of the time she disappeared. However, fortunately my Spanish roommate was very nice and kind. She was a lot of help when I just moved in and we had many conversations during my time in WWH, that made me not want to leave. I had a really great time with her - (The only exception is one day her alarm clock rang at 5:00am in the morning but she didn't get up->I wake up!!)

Pros and Cons:

Positive- Living with other students in the same language school, everyone walked the same track to Newmarket train station. That helps me not to be late for school. And also its a good way to make friends. Other students they are from variety places, let me know more about those different cultural things, and practise English as well. ( I felt embarrassed that I made so many mistakes about some nationalities I am not familiar with)

Negative- WWH beyond my expectation is that it isn't located near school, live in school accommodation still need to take the train (only 1 stop is ok) its kind of rare. Train tickets are extra cost though. (ha ha, but I got a child ticket once! Its another story)
